Our Montessori schools offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of your children:

 

Part-Time, Full-Time & Extended Day for Pre-Primary Children

Our Schools offer the following programs for pre-primary children:

  • Half Day Program - 7:15 a.m. — 11:45 a.m.
  • Full Day Program - 7:15 a.m. — 2:45 p.m.
  • Extended Day - 7:15 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • 2 Day Program - Tuesday & Thursday
  • 3 Day Program - Monday, Wednesday & Friday
  • 5 Day Program - Monday through Friday

 


Typical Daily Schedule*
 
7:15 to 8:00 a.m. Arrivals and independent Montessori work cycle
 
8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Circle time, Montessori presentations, and independent Montessori work cycle: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Science, Computers, Geography, Spanish, Music and Movement, Art and Story Time

Children have 30 minutes during the morning for snack and outdoor play
 
11:00 to 12:15 p.m. Supervised lunch and outdoor play
 
11:30 to 11:45 a.m. Half-day dismissal
 
12:15 to 12:30 p.m. Story time (quite time)
 
12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Rest (children lie down on their mats and rest while listening to soft, classical music and stories)
 
  **Kindergarten children take a 15-minute rest and continue their afternoon work cycle until 2:00 p.m., when we prepare for dismissal
 
2:00 to 2:30 p.m. Free play, outdoor activity, music and movement
 
2:30 to 2:45 p.m. Full day dismissal
 
2:45 to 3:00 p.m. Afternoon snack
 
3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. After school program activities: music and movement, songs, games, puzzles, reading, educational videos, and extra curricular activities
 
5:30 to 6:00 p.m. End of the school day
 

*Schedule is subject to change depending on the needs of the children or inclement weather

Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. Children are responsible for bringing their own lunch. The school serves nutritious morning and afternoon snacks.

Admissions Requirements for the Pre-Primary Program

  • Child must be 3 years old at the time of enrollment and must be toilet trained to be accepted into the Pre-Primary program
  • Completion of all forms in the Registration Packet
  • Payment of registration fee ($300.00 -- non refundable)
  • A month long probationary period for all new students is required to determine whether our academic program is beneficial, and meets the needs of your child.

Prior to the first day of class, each child must have the following health documents and certificates on file in the school. These documents are required by Childcare Licensing:

  • Certificate of Health, DH form 3040
  • Florida Certificate of Immunization, DH form 680
  • Copy of the child’s birth certificate

Kindergarten

Kindergarten class is held Monday through Friday. The school is open at 7:15 a.m. and classes begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Kindergarten dismissal is 2:45 p.m.. Children are responsible for bringing their own lunch. The school serves nutritious morning and afternoon snacks.

Beginning Fall 2008, The Riverview Montessori begins its Elementary Program for children ages 6 through 9 years of age. Class is held Monday through Friday. The school is open at 7:15 a.m. and class begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Elementary dismissal is 2:45 p.m.. Children are responsible for bringing their own lunch. The school serves nutritious morning and afternoon snacks.

8:00 to 11:30 a.m. Montessori presentations, and independent Montessori work cycle: History, Geography, Math, Language, Life Sciences, Foreign Language, Computers, Music & Movement, and Art.

Children have 30 minutes during the morning for snack and outdoor play
 
11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Supervised lunch and outdoor play
 
12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Montessori Presentations. Children will continue their afternoon work cycle until 2:00 p.m. when we prepare for dismissal.
 
2:00 to 2:30 p.m. Free play, outdoor activity, music and movement
 
2:30 to 2:45 p.m. Full Day students' dismissal
 
2:45 to 3:00 p.m. Afternoon snack for Extended Day Students
 
3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. After school program activities: music and movement, songs, games, puzzles, reading, educational videos, and extra curricular activities. Time includes student  homework completion with staff assistance.
 
5:30 to 6:00 p.m. End of the school day

After School Program for Elementary

After School Program 2:30 p.m. — 6:00 p.m. for students enrolled at Lithia Springs Elementary or Terrell Sessums Elementary.

Program includes “early release days” based on the public school calendar. Our school serves a nutritious afternoon snack.

Admissions Requirements for the After School Care Program:

  • Child must be enrolled at Lithia Springs or Terrell Sessums Elementary schools
  • Completion of all forms in the Registration Packet
  • Payment of registration fee ($50.00 -- non refundable)

Prior to the first day of class each child must have the following information on file at the school:

  • Release form on file at the elementary school
  • Emergency Information Card & Authorization for Student Release filled out and signed
  • Allergies and health concerns documented

PLEASE NOTE: If your child is picked up late from The Brandon Montessori School or The Riverview Montessori School, a late payment charge of $1.00 per minute will apply.

Summer Program

The Brandon Montessori & The Riverview Montessori Summer Program is a relaxed approach to Montessori. The 2008 program runs from June 2nd to July 25th and our theme is "8 Weeks Around the World!"

During our summer program, we explore 8 different countries/regions around the world. Cultural studies of each region include music, arts, crafts, gardening, games and much more…

Registration Fee (non-refundable) $25.00 (if not registered for Fall).

A current FL Certificate of Health form, FL Certificate of Immunization, and a copy of the birth certificate must be on file for each child, prior to the start of the Summer Program regardless of fall enrollment. Please call for tuition rates and details of specialized camps we offer.
